Tjeklist is a personal organization tool that helps users through to do lists. Users can easily add any task they like. The site is focused on personal activities, such as grocery shopping, paying bills or running errands. However the site could be used to organize almost any collection of tasks. After adding an item, the user can expand it to add notes and specific dates. Tags can also be added so that similar tasks can be grouped together based on purpose or theme. User can also set tasks to be recurring or add a reminder prior to the task due date. Tasks are listed in order with tags and required dates. The top of the list includes the tags, which can be clicked to filter the tasks shown on the list. Each item can be checked off after it is complete. Tjeklist also lets users color code items and create sub-tasks that appear under a main task. Tasks can be printed or accessed online by logging in to Tjeklist.
Tjeklist was developed by the Provenio Software Corporation. The company has produced a handful of other web based applications including Say the Time, a personal time management tool and T.Wist.It, an application that allows users to add Flickr photos to their Twitter profile background. Provenio also created Q.Uote.It, which includes a collection of quotes that can be shared with friends through Facebook.
Tjeklist works much like other similar applications. It is really difficult to call the service offered unique in any way. It includes a few appealing features, such as the ability to add sub-tasks that appear under tasks. This permits users to create projects and group specific items together beyond the standard tagging system.
Tjeklist has a very cheerful design that uses green and pale yellow. The user’s check list is presented with small boxes to the left of each task on the list. These boxes can be color coded to indicate priority items or help identify items that are grouped together. The tag filters are presented in the green header bar, just above the long task adding tool. Each task is shown with the name on the left and the date and tags positioned to the right.
A new user can create a Tjeklist account by clicking the gold “Get Started Now” button along the top, left hand side of the homepage. The user must click the dark blue “Click Here to Sign Up Now!” link at the top, left side of the following page to continue. A pop up box appears and invites the user to register using a Facebook, Google, Twitter, LinkedIn, Yahoo or My Space account. One of these is required to sign in to Tjeklist.
Tjeklist is a simple, fun service that allows users to log in using one of six other free services. Anyone can create tasks and manage their lists for free. There are no subscription fees or other charges for doing so. Users are not limited and can access all current features without paying anything for the opportunity.
Tjeklist could be interesting for someone who is looking for a simple way to organize their personal tasks and responsibilities. Although it might not be as functional for professionals, it offers the basics for individuals.
